Specialist News Services (SNS) was set up in September 1993 by Simon Worthington and Mark Solomons, both working at The Sun back then but with previous experience on other papers like the Mail and Today plus TV-AM.
The idea of SNS was to provide the papers with the kind of consumer and lifestyle-led stories that fill the pages in between the politics, sport and other breaking news.
These are the kind of stories that PR agencies and in-house teams are desperate to get into the paper so we began working with them to find a more effective way of getting their message across.
Many of the top PR award-winning campaigns have made it into the papers through our help and expertise in the background.
Occasionally our work is publicised, but largely we have become the PR industry’s ‘secret weapon’.
